Custom Cable Industries Expands Capabilities;
Progresses Toward FOC Certification

TAMPA, Fla. – (Jan. 11, 2012) – Custom Cable Industries, Inc., (http://www.customcable.com) a leading connectivity company with national presence and global distribution, is expanding its fiber optic assembly and copper assembly capabilities to meet growing client demands.

"This has been an exceptional year for Custom Cable Industries, and we expect 2012 to be even better," says Tom Ward, president. "We are more than doubling our fiber optic assembly capacity as a result of recent capital improvements and look forward to achieving our FOC certification for fiber assemblies by mid-year 2012."

Ward attributes the expansion to the continued demand for high bandwidth devices and growing market requirements, including 4G/LTE network build outs and upgrades, wireless backhaul build outs, cloud service centers, power utility projects, county/state projects and independent telephone fiber builds that were awarded stimulus funding. He notes that Custom Cable's capacity expansion includes copper assembly, in addition to fiber optic assembly.

"As business and individual usage increases for personal devices, there must be comparable increases in bandwidth and the network components Custom Cable produces," he says. "In addition, as we continue to diversify our customer mix and expand from our traditional base of telecom to power and utility applications, we expect to see a significant increase in demand from those sectors as well."

Ward adds, "We are also moving forward with FOC certification and project a mid-year 2012 completion for gaining this stringent certification. This will further enhance our fiber optic product offerings and capabilities."

In addition to anticipated FOC certification, Ward points to a number of other recent accomplishments for Custom Cable Industries, including March 2011 TL 9000-H and ISO 9001:2008 recertification, Telcordia GR-326 – Issue 4 certification for LC and SC singlemode fiber optic connector assemblies and receipt of a 2011 Supplier Excellence Award from Jabil.

Custom Cable Receives Second Telcordia GR-326 Certification for Fiber Optic Connector

TAMPA, Fla. – (Oct. 25, 2010) – Custom Cable Industries, Inc., (http://www.customcable.com) a leading connectivity company with national presence and global distribution, has successfully completed GR-326 certification for LC ultra physical contact (UPC) singlemode fiber optic connector assemblies, with certification given for the latest issue -- 4-- dated February 2010.

The certification is in addition to the previously announced certification for SC ultra physical contact (UPC) singlemode fiber optic connector assemblies.

The current GR-326 CORE standards update, compared with the September 1999 issue 3 is aimed at increasing the overall reliability of products for the demands of today's bandwidth-intensive network infrastructure.

"These certifications are particularly important to Custom Cable as a value-added assembler," says Gregg Stewart, Custom Cable general manager. "In addition to third party certification, Custom Cable's commitment to long-term fiber optic reliability is evident through its in-house environmental testing programs. Internal environmental chambers for both temperature and humidity testing are continually utilized to ensure the highest long-term performance of raw components, optical adhesives and overall finished product."

To receive the certification, Custom Cable successfully completed all Service Life and Reliability requirements. Service Life testing consists of a concise sequence of mechanical tests that simulate the stresses that fiber optic connector assemblies may be subjected to while in service within a telecommunications plant. Reliability testing establishes long-term reliability of the fiber optic connectors via rigorous environmental conditions designed to simulate the entire life of a product in all types of conditions.

This certification further enhances Custom Cable's U.S. fiber assembly manufacturing capabilities that include simplex/duplex jumpers and distribution fiber trunks utilizing bend insensitive (BIF) singlemode fiber and OM1 through OM4 laser optimized (10-Gigabit) multimode fiber. Such assemblies are used in central office, data center, outside plant (MDU/RT) and customer premise (CPE) applications.

Custom Cable Receives its first Telcordia GR-326 Certification for Fiber Optic Connector

TAMPA, Fla. – (Oct. 6, 2010) – Custom Cable Industries, Inc., (http://www.customcable.com) a leading connectivity company with national presence and global distribution, has successfully completed GR-326 certification for SC ultra physical contact (UPC) singlemode fiber optic connector assemblies, with certification given for the latest issue – 4 -- dated February 2010.

The current GR-326 CORE standards update, compared with the September 1999 issue 3, is aimed at increasing the overall reliability of products for the demands of today's bandwidth-intensive network infrastructure. Most significantly, optical performance is measured at additional wavelengths including 1490nm and 1625nm in order to certify performance at the limits of current fiber optic networks. As network technology, capacity and density increase, it is essential to comply with the latest optical connectivity certification requirements to maximize investment and ensure long term reliability.

"Not many U.S. manufacturers of fiber optic assemblies can claim the product will perform as well in 20 years as it did the day it was assembled. The GR-326 CORE requirements have been designed to certify fiber optic connectivity suppliers in this regard," says Gregg Stewart, Custom Cable general manager. "As a value-added assembler, we are extremely pleased to receive this significant certification."

The certification enhances Custom Cable's U.S. fiber assembly manufacturing capabilities that include simplex/duplex jumpers and distribution fiber trunks utilizing bend insensitive (BIF) singlemode fiber and OM1 through OM4 laser optimized (10-Gigabit) multimode fiber. Such assemblies are used in central office, data center, outside plant (MDU/RT) and customer premise (CPE) applications.

"Compliance with the reliability portion of GR-326 is quite difficult to achieve due to extensive environmental aging," says Stewart. "We continue to invest in our internal environmental testing capabilities to ensure that all our products meet rigorous reliability standards. This is a valued requirement for fiber optic networks."

Custom Cable Industries Files for Chapter 11 Reorganization:
Seeks Asset Sale through Section 363 of U.S. Bankruptcy Code

TAMPA, Fla, -- (July 30, 2010) – Custom Cable Industries, Inc., (http://www.customcable.com) a leading connectivity company with national presence and global distribution, today announced that it has filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code to reorganize and implement a balance sheet restructuring. The filing was made in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division.

All day to day operations and business of Custom Cable will continue as usual. The Company has the requisite funding in hand to operate in Chapter 11.

"Custom Cable is a good company with a poor balance sheet but improving business operations," says Gregg Stewart, general manager and chief restructuring officer. "This action is being taken to restructure the company's balance sheet and allow for a fresh capital infusion. Management believes a new owner and the resultant capital infusion would allow the company to continue its trend of positive operating results, allowing it to resume sustainable and profitable growth. We appreciate the support we have received to date from our long time customers and suppliers, and look forward to continuing these valued relationships."

Despite upward trends in operations during 2010, Custom Cable has faced issues with its significant debt level and continued litigation claims from former executives and its senior lender. The decision to pursue Chapter 11 reorganization was made by a special committee of the company's board of directors, whose members determined that the best course of action was to seek an asset sale of the company through Section 363 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

Custom Cable has retained Berenfeld Capital Markets, LLC to solicit prospective purchasers. An affiliate of ComVest Capital LLC, Custom Cable's senior lender and majority shareholder, has expressed its willingness to purchase Custom Cable.
