Custom Cable Industries, Inc. named 2009 Supplier of the Year.

On Friday, December 4, 2009, the Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC) of PA-NJ-DE announced their annual business awards and named Custom Cable Industries, Inc. the "2009 Supplier of the Year". Custom Cable won recognition in the fiercely competitive category for companies with $10 Million to $50 Million in annual gross revenue. They were nominated by Verizon and CTDI.

In winning this prestigious designation, Custom Cable was lauded for its ability to provide the highest level of product and service excellence to its Fortune 500 partners while also offering innovative cost-savings. With expertise in providing both copper and fiber optic connectivity solutions, Custom Cable was further singled out for its demonstrated ability to deliver continuity of supply and superior turnaround times.

Custom Cable Chairman and CEO, Martin Hunt, accepted the 2009 Supplier of the Year Award at the PA-NJ-DE MSDC Annual Awards Gala in Philadelphia. The event was attended by senior executives representing some of the most respected corporations in America as well as many of the most prominent and successful entrepreneurs in the PA-NJ-DE area.

Mr. Hunt congratulated his team for delivering on Custom Cable values around certified quality, exceptional customer service, and operational excellence and offered thanks for this prestigious recognition. To further deliver on Mr. Hunt’s commitment, Custom Cable has secured partnerships with industry giants in copper and optical fiber and has made investments to more than double its capacity to manufacture fiber optic cable assemblies at its manufacturing facility in Tampa, FL. Custom Cable is also in the final stages of obtaining Telcordia GR-326 certification needed to grow sales in the telecommunications industry. Upon completion, Custom Cable will be one of a handful of companies worldwide with this designation for tested products.

Custom Cable Earns ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Custom Cable Industries, Inc. (CCI) successfully certified to the new International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2008 quality management standard. This designation is an important symbol of Custom Cable's ongoing commitment to quality.

ISO 9001:2008 introduces clarifications to the existing requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and offers changes intended to improve consistency with other management systems standards such as ISO 14001:2004.

Custom Cable has been ISO 9001:2000 certified since March 2005 and recertified in March 2008.

The newly awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification is valid until March 3, 2011.

Custom Cable Renews ITAR Registration

Custom Cable Industries, Inc. (CCI) obtained renewed International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) registration from the Department of State, Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance pursuant to the Arms Export Control Act (AECA).

ITAR regulates the manufacture, export, import and transfer of defense-related articles and services. This certification is evidence of Custom Cable’s commitment to safeguard defense-related data for our customers and our country. Registration has been extended until is November 30, 2009.

Custom Cable receives NMSDC certification

Custom Cable received minority business enterprise certification from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). The NMSDC is the gold standard for minority supplier certifications and is accepted globally.

Custom Cable is certified by and active in the Minority Supplier Development Council of PA-NJ-DE and has reciprocal certifications with the Atlanta, Southern California and Florida councils of the NMSDC.

HWI Partners Acquires Custom Cable

July 15, 2008—Kennett Square, PA based HWI Partners announces the acquisition of Custom Cable Industries, Inc from global office furniture leader, Steelcase Inc. (SCS). The transaction was completed on July 15, 2008.

Custom Cable Earns Newest TL 9000 Certification

The Assembly Division of Tampa-based Custom Cable Industries, Inc. was issued the newest TL 9000 Quality Management System certification. Re-certification is valid until March 3, 2011.

The certification confirms and establishes that Custom Cable's Assembly Division complies with TL 9000-H R4.0/R4.0 (Product Category 7.7.3). Changes and/or additional requirements applicable to this enhanced standard were designed to ensure intended quality results, emphasize design process quality measurements, add required testing (regression, document verification, stress, abnormal condition and system), and broaden the scope of certain hardware and software requirements. In all, ninety adders are now required above and beyond standards outlined in ISO 9001: 2000. Achieving this aggressive standard is core to the enduring Custom Cable commitment to quality.

Custom Cable Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Re-Certification

Today, the Workplace Connectivity and Assembly Divisions of Custom Cable Industries, Inc. (CCI) were both re-issued International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard certifications. These Quality Management System re-certifications were confirmed by registrar NQA-USA, are valid through March 2011, and apply to Custom Cable sites in both Tampa and Orlando, Florida. Custom Cable has a long-standing commitment to quality and has Quality Management Systems surveillance audits done twice per year to ensure ongoing adherence to ISO 9001:2000 requirements.

Custom Cable Commitment to Safeguard Defense-Related Data is ITAR Certified

Custom Cable Opens Metro Atlanta Office

August 1, 2007—Tampa, Florida-based cabling company Custom Cable announces the opening of a Metro Atlanta office. The new office and expansion is a direct response to customer requests that Custom Cable establish a presence to serve the financial services and retail industries based in Atlanta.

Custom Cable Introduces the ACS II FTTH Fiber Repair System - Resurface Instead of Replace

Custom Cable announces a supplier agreement to distribute the MF Lightwave, Inc ACS II portable field polishing system (patent pending). The ACS II is the only true field portable system which allows the user to repair damaged connectors or completely replace a connector to factory standards in the field. This system allows technicians in most cases to resurface rather than replace a fiber connector saving hundreds of dollars in time and hardware. Custom Cable Industries (CCI) Assembly Division updated its training curriculum based upon revision A to the IPC/WHMA-A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies. These standards are globally accepted and were developed by the Association Connecting Electronics Industries, formerly known as the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits, (IPC) Task Group of the Product Assurance Subcommittee and the Wiring Harness Manufacturers’ Association (WHMA) Industry Technical Guidelines Committee. This effort is part of Custom Cable’s enduring commitment to overall quality.

The Assembly Division is a contract manufacturer of cable assemblies, including fabrication of network cabling, cable assemblies, wiring harnesses and cabling adapters for commercial, control, data and the telecommunication industries.

TL 9000-H R3.0/R3.5 Added to Custom Cable Quality Certifications

Custom Cable Industries, Inc. (CCI) Assembly Division located in Tampa, Florida received TL 9000 certification today.

The Assembly Division is a contract manufacturer of cable assemblies (product category 8.3.b), including fabrication of network cabling, cable assemblies, wiring harnesses and cabling adapters for control, data and telecommunications industries.

TL 9000 is an International Standard, developed by the QuEST Forum in 1998 specifying requirements for a quality management system. The designation is based solely upon adherence to the complete ISO 9001: 2000 standard and eighty-one additional telecom-specific requirements.

TL 9000 Quality Management Systems are designed to meet the supply chain quality requirements of the worldwide telecommunications industry and provides value and benefits across all the supply chain disciplines (Buyers, Suppliers, and Service Providers). It also offers a consistent set of quality expectations that parallel rapid technology changes and customer expectations.

The result is a unique, robust quality management system that drives continual improvement and business excellence.

This registration is in effect until March 3, 2008. Custom Cable is now among a select few companies in the United States that meet these high quality standards.

It is official; Custom Cable Industries, Inc. (CCI) is now certified to the International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard. This step is an important part of Custom Cable's enduring value around quality and its commitment to meet and exceed customer requirements and enhance customer satisfaction. The certification applies to both Workplace Connectivity (Installation) and Assembly Divisions.

ISO 9001:2000 is based on a systematic process approach to quality and strives to control and improve organizational results. Custom Cable's valid hold of this designation expires in March 2008.

Custom Cable Honored with BICSI Prestige Platinum Contractor Accreditation!

Custom Cable Industries, Inc. became one of just twenty-seven companies to achieve the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Prestige Platinum Contractor accreditation. This designation differentiates Custom Cable as a premier installer of highest quality products whose processes are compliant with and exceed ISO 9001:2008 requirements. Accreditation requires that at least five BICSI qualified technicians and three Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD) are employed and a company certification by at least one manufacturer whose products are installed by the candidate company.

BICSI is an international association supporting the information transport systems (ITS) industry with information, education and knowledge assessments for individuals and companies. It serves more than 24,000 ITS professionals, including designers, installers and technicians. These individuals provide the fundamental infrastructure for telecommunications, audio/video, and life safety and automation systems. Through courses, conferences, publications and professional registration programs, BICSI staff and volunteers assist ITS professionals in delivering critical products and services, and offer opportunities for continual improvement and enhanced professional stature.

Custom Cable's BICSI Prestige Platinum Contractor Accreditation extends through February 1, 2010.
